| 02/17/09 - This place seemed pretty good when I first started working there.... u have to train about 2 or 3 days before u work and then u have to pass a test on their menu and layout (super easy) ... the server that trained me said tips were good (about $100/day).... however after taxes u make almost nothing... they tax u on credit cards and although u keep your cash tips (which are almost nil) they tax u on the cash tips out of your hourly pay. They never seem to have enough servers and u frequently have to plan on staying another 2 hrs past your shift and the schedule changes weekly.... so even if u ask for only 4 days u'll probable get 6. I had to also work by myself (as in no other serves) for about 4 hrs for a week (this was thanksgiving week and we were swamped cause its columbus circle). Tips tend to suck since u get a lot of tourists who either don't believe in tipping or they tip 8-10 %. The busser/runner is amazing, the baristas are super sweet and will try to help u out when its swamped. I liked two managers but they both left :-( they were the only ones that would actually help when they saw we were busy and had only 1 server on the floor. The corporate thing can be annoying at times cause u sometimes wish u had that table when they place gets crowded.... but the guys are super nice (Marcus Samuelsson, etc). Overall I liked the people and my coworkers were the best but I just needed to make more money (one week I worked 6 days -over 45 hrs and made a total of $396!!! ...including cash tips).
